why are you still dreaming? is heaving.'s second EP and their first proper release since 2024's debut just take everything…. The Peoria, IL four-piece put it out themselves on July 22, 2026, collecting the two singles they'd rolled out over the spring — "faces of you" in May, "if i cried out" in June — and adding a third song, "carsick," to close it.
Adam Cichocki mixed and mastered, as he did on the debut EP. Tyler Spatafore, who also drums in the band, handled recording, with James Treichler tracking drums. The result runs 8 minutes and 40 seconds and doesn't waste much of it: the same guitar-forward attack that's drawn comparisons to Deftones, Hum, and Superheaven, now with a cleaner, heavier low end than the 2024 material.
"carsick" is the one genuinely new piece here, and the band gave it an official music video. At just over three minutes it's the EP's most patient song — it takes its time before the payoff.
Digital is available for $4 at Bandcamp in 24-bit/48kHz, alongside two shirts and a reflective-print tote.
