Milly have just announced their sophomore LP titled "Your Own Becoming" and have dropped the lead single and official video for 'Drip From the Fountain,' perhaps the biggest sounding song the band has written to date. The new single doubles down on their trademark 90s inspired melodic-and noisy alternative guitar-centric pop, pulling from the best elements of 90s grungy alt-rock, emo, shoegaze, and indie/power-pop with a monster hook to go with it. 'Drip From the Fountain', which is the 4th song on the new LP, especially pulls from the fuzzy and jangly rock of early Superchunk, Archers of Loaf, and Dinosaur Jr, while incorporating the cleaner and more emotive elements of Blue era Weezer. With its clean guitar jangle in the initial verses and big build up to the explosive sing-along chorus, this is definitely a song that deserves a repeat listen. It also hangs right alongside bands like Narrow Head, Gleemer, Downward, and this new crop of up and coming bands, incorporating elements of melodic and hook laden 90s inspired alternative rock, grunge, shoegaze and emo into their sound. Check out the full press release below with more details on the forthcoming LP.
