I Hope There's Music in Heaven

Inspired by 90’s emo and alternative rock, MyVeronica began as the solo project of singer/guitarist Mia Lin. Now a four-piece band, MyVeronica is still an outlet for “exploring the deeply personal through the universal,” shares Lin. The band seeks catharsis and exorcism: accessing the deep, sensitive part of yourself that doesn’t have space in daily life.

Their debut album, "I Hope There's Music in Heaven," is set to release on August 21, 2026 on Sunday Drive Records. Channeling the heartfelt and emotional songwriting of their inspirations (Mineral, Sonic Youth, Sunny Day Real Estate), the band expands upon their previous releases with heavier guitars, earnest lyrics and soundscapes of noise. Over the course of 9 songs, MyVeronica oscillates between piercing guitar hooks and melancholic slowcore to tell a story of early-20s angst and a desperate search to find the good in the world. Los Angeles emotional rock band MyVeronica have signed with Sunday Drive Records and announced their debut album, I Hope There's Music in Heaven, due August 21.

Originally started as the solo project of singer and guitarist Mia Lin, MyVeronica have since grown into a four-piece rooted in 1990s emo and alternative rock. Across the album's nine tracks, the band moves between piercing guitar hooks, heavier bursts of noise, and melancholic slowcore, drawing from touchstones including Mineral, Jejune, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, and Sunny Day Real Estate.

The announcement arrives with lead single “Sick Sad World,” which is available now alongside a new music video. Additional singles “Cross” and “In This Endless Lifetime” will follow ahead of the album's release.
