Paerish

Rita

Parisian alt-rock band Paerish return October 16, 2026 with Rita, their fourth full-length and latest release for SideOneDummy Records. Once again working with longtime collaborator Will Yip, the Paris quartet built the album around the energy of their live show, leaning into heavier riffs, driving rhythms and a more direct attack of their anthemic alternative rock, emo and post-grunge, while keeping the dreamy shoegaze textures that have long been central to their sound.

The album draws heavily on childhood memories, the passage of time and the effort to preserve the instinct to create. Its title references Saint Rita, patron saint of lost causes, and a bell tower vocalist/guitarist Mathias Court remembers seeing from his family’s apartment in the South of France. Across eleven tracks, the band balances nostalgia with the pressure to keep moving forward, touching on working life, toxic relationships, jealousy and the fear of losing the creative spark that once came naturally.

Lead material from the record includes “Vapor Cloud,” a driving song about holding onto that creative impulse as life changes, and the earlier “Wait For Dark,” which introduced the album’s heavier, more visceral direction. Paerish recorded Rita with Yip at his studio in Philadelphia, shaping these songs specifically to hit harder in a live setting.

Paerish Announce New Album ‘Rita,’ Share New Single “Vapor Cloud”

August 25, 2026

French alt-emo band Paerish have announced their fourth full-length, Rita, due October 16, 2026 via SideOneDummy Records.

Once again working with Grammy-winning producer Will Yip, the Paris quartet built the eleven-song record around the energy of their live show, pushing toward a louder, brasher, rawer and more immediate version of their sound. The result is guitar-fueled, anthemic alternative rock that pulls from emo and post-grunge, layered with shoegazey textures, crushing riffs and monster hooks. The album draws on childhood memories, the passing of time and the need to hold onto the creative instinct that first pushed the band to make music.

Alongside the announcement, Paerish have shared the driving new single “Vapor Cloud.” Vocalist/guitarist Mathias Court says the song grew from reflecting on years spent writing music and wondering whether the urge to create can fade as people move further into adulthood.

“Vapor Cloud” follows the previously released crushing single “Wait For Dark,” which arrived earlier this year.

Rita is available to pre-order here.
