Siilk Announce Sophomore LP Visceral Images, Share Heavy New Single “Still Frame”

Kansas City nugaze band Siilk have announced their sophomore LP, Visceral Images, arriving October 8. The 14-track record follows their 2023 debut full-length Fall in Place and builds on the heavier, more muscular direction of their 2025 standalone single “Silver Tongue,” which pushed the band’s grungegaze sound further into nu-metal territory.
Our first taste of this next chapter is “Still Frame,” a track that leans harder into the band’s aggressive nu-metal side without sacrificing the hazy, dreamlike melodies that define their sound. Thick, distorted guitars and a pummeling low end collide with atmospheric passages, bringing together nu-metal, post-hardcore, ’90s alt-grunge, and shoegaze. It’s a heavier, more aggressive turn for Siilk, but the contrast between crushing riffs and melodic atmosphere remains at the heart of their appeal.
Formed in 2022, Siilk introduced themselves with a six-song self-titled EP before expanding their sound on Fall in Place, weaving grunge-soaked guitars and shoegaze textures around increasingly prominent nu-metal rhythms. With “Still Frame,” the band continues to push that heavier direction while retaining the melodic hooks and atmosphere that set them apart. Fans of Deftones, Superheaven, Narrow Head, Soul Blind, Korn, Bleed, and Split Chain should have this one on their radar.
