Slow Pulp

Melodie

Melodie is Slow Pulp's third album, out September 18, 2026 via ANTI- — and arguably their biggest swing. Where the band's first two records, Moveys (2020) and Yard (2023), were produced in-house by guitarist Henry Stoehr, this one brought in Elliott Kozel (Rosalía, Yves Tumor, Björk, SZA) to co-produce alongside Stoehr and singer Emily Massey. The result, per the band, moves between power-pop euphoria, acoustic heartbreak, and the wide-open space in between.

It also marks a shift in how the songs got written. Massey has been the band's primary lyricist for years, but on Melodie Stoehr wrote five of the eleven songs, and the two often traded lines until it was hard to tell who wrote what — a return to how they worked when the band first formed in Madison. "Emily and I were reconnecting with how we wrote together when we first met," Stoehr says.

Lead single "Better Man," released in June 2026 with a Ben Turok-directed video, is a Stoehr song about ceding control and learning to accept yourself: "This song is me both letting go of control but taking control of myself in a new way," he explained. Melodie was mixed by Stoehr and mastered by Ruairi O'Flaherty at Sterling Sound in Los Angeles.

Melodie is available to pre-order on vinyl and digital via ANTI-.
