The Barbarians of California

MEGATONS

The Barbarians of California return on August 21, 2026 with their new album MEGATONS, a blast of raw hardcore energy, riffs by the pound, and the band’s signature mix of ferocity and tongue-in-cheek humor. Featuring Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION and Eric Stenman of Tinfed and noted production work, the band comes charging out of the sun-soaked, teeth-gnashing heart of the Golden State with songs that hit like a caffeine-fueled fever dream.

Ahead of the album, The Barbarians of California have released four singles so far: “The Gnarlycore Class,” “Vanilla Latte,” “Bomb to a Knife Fight,” and “Modern Fashion.” Check them out below via Spotify.

The latest single, “The Gnarlycore Class,” arrives with a classroom-centered video that leans into the band’s irreverent sense of humor while still delivering the kind of chaotic, riff-heavy energy that has quickly become their calling card.

After touring arenas with Deftones last year, The Barbarians of California have also confirmed their first run of headline dates, alongside upcoming shows with Guns N’ Roses and festival appearances including Rocklahoma and Louder Than Life.

RIYL: Everytime I Die, Many Eys, Deftones, Code Orange, Snapcase, Chat Pile

The Barbarians of California Share New Single and Video “Really Really Rad”

July 29, 2026

The Barbarians of California have released “Really Really Rad,” the latest single from their forthcoming sophomore album, MEGATONS, out August 21.

Built around thick, dissonant riffs and the band’s metallic hardcore attack, the track takes an unexpected turn with a dose of disco-fueled fun in its closing stretch. The accompanying video finds the band rollerblading by the ocean, attempting one-armed push-ups and playing guitar on the beach.

“‘REALLY REALLY RAD’ was really fun to make. ‘REALLY REALLY RAD’ has really fun dynamics. ‘REALLY REALLY RAD’ is really good,” says Aaron Bruno.

MEGATONS follows the band’s 2024 debut, And Now I’m Just Gnashing My Teeth, and continues the collaboration between Bruno of AWOLNATION and Eric Stenman of Tinfed.
