The Still Out

Originally released in 2009 and quietly uploaded to Spotify in 2018, "Crystallized" gets a new life on August 21, 2026 with a deluxe, freshly remastered edition from New York rock band The Still Out.

On Crystallized, dreamy, wandering imagery meets raw emotion as the Still Out channels shoegaze, alt-rock, psych pop, and post punk. An eclectic group of songwriters, production styles, and aesthetics birthed their sound, a compelling blend of angular guitar licks, soaring vocal melodies, and dynamic drumming. The record is a multidimensional mix of melody and madness.

The album was written, performed, recorded and produced by Josh Stoddard and Arjun “Arj” Agerwala, with much of the work taking shape at Stratosphere Sound. The expanded edition features guest appearances from Adam Franklin of Swervedriver, Jody Porter of Fountains of Wayne, Claude Coleman, Jr. of Ween and Mikey Jones of The Lemonheads, Swervedriver and LSD and the Search for God, along with additional material not included on the original release.

For the 2026 edition, Crystallized was remastered by Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone at Sterling Sound. The record’s unusual second life began after its 2018 Spotify re-upload caught the attention of Jack Rabid at The Big Takeover, who placed it at #13 on his list of the year’s best archival and reissue releases.

The remaster also carries a deeper significance for Agerwala following Stoddard’s death in 2021. He has described the album as both a tribute to his longtime bandmate and a document of their friendship and creative history, with more unreleased material from The Still Out planned to follow.
