Suffer Summer

Chastity, led by singer/songwriter Brandon Williams, is set to release their third LP "Suffer Summer" on January 13, 2022, blending powerhouse riffs and potent choruses reminiscent of Mineral and Jimmy Eat World. The album, completing a trilogy, explores themes of happiness and healing while featuring collaborations with PUP's Stefan Babcock and Dallas Green of Alexisonfire and City and Colour. Combining accessible hooks with dark lyrics, "Suffer Summer" is an introspective journey that showcases Williams' growth as a lyricist, drawing inspiration from outsider music influences. Fans of Unwound, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Hum may find a compelling blend of emotional depth and musical exploration in this upcoming release from Chastity.

Chastity Announce New Album I Built This Prison Myself, Share “Misled Youth”

Whitby, Ontario’s Chastity have announced their new full-length, I Built This Prison Myself, due November 13, 2026 via Deathwish Inc., with Dine Alone Records handling the release in Canada.

Led by Brandon Williams, Chastity’s fifth album pushes the project’s collision of melodic hardcore, shoegaze, punk and heavy alternative rock into its most narrative territory yet. The ten-song record draws on a story from Williams’ hometown involving the former Whitby Psychiatric Hospital and a 1976 fire set by a 16-year-old patient who burned down a large barn on the hospital grounds.

Rather than focusing simply on the destruction, Williams imagines the young person behind the fire and the fear, powerlessness and control surrounding him. The story becomes a way into broader questions about survival and confinement—particularly what happens when the mechanisms people build to protect themselves eventually become walls of their own.

Alongside the announcement, Chastity have shared “Misled Youth,” the first taste of the new record.

I Built This Prison Myself follows Chastity’s 2024 self-titled album and continues a catalog that has moved through the mortality of Death Lust, the anxiety of Home Made Satan and the search for happiness on Suffer Summer.

I Built This Prison Myself is available to pre-order here.
