Today, the Illinois-raised, punk rock band Harrison Gordon has released the visceral, self-deprecating track, “Like Me Less” with Hopeless Records. Directed by Tades Sanville of Hot Mulligan and Alex Scalzo-Brown, the music video follows the band into a doctor's office as Harrison's face is reworked and distorted - a body-horror visual metaphor for the song's themes of self-loathing and projection. Harrison Gordon shares their thoughts on the new single below:
“’Like Me Less’ is about having issues with yourself, and projecting those problems on to other people. ‘Whatever black mold breeding and spreading over your soul needs to stay dormant and unaddressed if you hope to keep anyone around.’ It was written about how it felt to go through a depressive episode while living with another person who was operating completely fine, ‘No one knows me, I barely know me, and that’s the way it oughta be’”
Previous singles off their upcoming record include the raw and lyrically self-aware “Pretty” and the infectious, tongue-in-cheek track, “Not Working! Not Working!”
