3 Dollars

Plus Tax

Plus Tax is the debut EP from Hoboken, New Jersey’s 3 Dollars, arriving July 10, 2026 through Smartpunk Records. Built from the band’s scrappy, high-energy emo-punk foundation, the five-track release leans into sharp melodies, hooky riffs, and the kind of raw emotion that made early singles like “The Last Thing I Remember” and “Like I Said I Would (Dylan’s Song)” stand out beyond their local scene.

The EP was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Connor Priest at Timber Studios, whose credits include Alex G and Tonks. The band pulls from Title Fight, The Replacements, One Step Closer, and Anxious, landing somewhere between adolescent immediacy and a nostalgic New Jersey punk feel.

Lead single “Suppressed Memories” moves with urgency and a clear melodic center. Vocalist Arthur Pawley says the song is about being stuck “in limbo,” searching for inspiration to stay on course without getting trapped in past mistakes. The accompanying video was directed and produced by Rio Rosario and captures the band in gritty performance spaces and on a rooftop.

3 Dollars Share Reflective New Single and Video “Nauseous”

July 6, 2026

New Jersey emo-punk band 3 Dollars have shared their new single “Nauseous,” the opening track from their debut EP Plus Tax, out July 10 via Smartpunk Records.

The track follows “Suppressed Memories” with bright guitars, restless tempo shifts, and emotive vocals, while its Rio Rosario-directed video turns a carefree day between friends into something more chaotic.

Speaking on the single, vocalist Arthur Pawley says the lyrics came from “a place of reflection during a time where there was rapid change” in his life, with the line “See it more than you can” centering on the feeling of recognizing your own path before others have found theirs.

Plus Tax was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Connor Priest at Timber Studios, and arrives this Friday through Smartpunk Records. Watch the video for “Nauseous” below.
