Cloned Apparition

Montreal-based alternative rock band Cloned Apparition mark their return with a refreshed line up and announcement of their debut album. Parallel with the Sun will release July 17th on Static Era Records conjuring up eight tracks that swirl through a high-energy combination of grunge, shoegaze, and nu-metal leaning sounds. Formed in 2021 by guitarist Alec Turcot, drummer Tehotsenhàthe “T” Lazare, and bassist Adam Setiawan, Turcot now moves to lead vocalist for the band and they welcome in Dewayne Shank (also of Botfly) on guitar.

Lead single “Stain,” out now, unleashes a powerful sonic delivery. A fast DJ beat that sounds straight out of an action sports video game leads into thick riffs and pronounced drums. Turcot’s vocals vibrate off the wall of sound, carrying a feeling that’s intense and cathartic. Influence from bands like Helmet, Only Living Witness, and Hum comes through, while fitting right alongside contemporaries such as Bleed, Money, and Soul Blind. The video for the song, filmed and edited by Aidan Matthews, is a dizzying spell of a performance from the band and mixed imagery.

“The song tackles the theme of someone trying to portray someone they are not, out of fear of people seeing them for who they really are. It’s something I’ve dealt with personally and struggled with.”
