NY Grungegaze band Glimmer announce debut LP "Get Weak" and release new single "Dissolve"
NY-based band grungegaze band Glimmer will release their debut LP, "Get Weak," on October 3rd, 2025, featuring 10 brand new tracks that mix 90s inspired alternative, grunge, shoegaze, and dream-pop influences with a modern twist. With latest singles "Dissolve" and "Sorrow Again" now available for streaming, Glimmer's sound draws parallels to 90s alt-rock icons like The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and Foo Fighters along with shoegaze icons like Swervedriver, My Bloody Valentine and Ride, and will certainly cater to fans of the current shoegaze revival scene. Recorded in Brooklyn and mastered by Will Yip (Superheaven, Title Fight, Turnstile, Balance and Composure), the album promises a blend of heavy-hitting fuzzed out grungy anthems with ethereal and dreamy pop-leaning tracks, for a nostalgic yet contemporary listening experience. As evidence by the latest singles now streaming, Glimmer have a knack for crafting memorable hooks, buzzing guitar melodies and dream-like atmospheres. NY-based grungegaze band Glimmer has announced their debut LP, Get Weak, due out on October 3rd, 2025. The album is available for pre-order via Bandcamp — with a vinyl release coming from Philly's Abandon Everything Records — and album singles "Dissolve" and "Sorrow Again" are both now available to stream on all platforms.
Over the past two years, Glimmer has made their mark with a handful of well-received singles that mix elements of shoegaze, grunge, and dream-pop for a sound that's both nostalgic and of-the-moment. Recorded with Jeff Berner at Brooklyn's Studio G and mastered by Will Yip (Turnstile, Superheaven), the band's upcoming album pairs their more pop-leaning singles with heavy-hitting alt-rock anthems and softer, more etherial tracks that lend an otherworldly quality to their sound. Latest single "Dissolve" showcases Glimmer's ability to craft instantly memorable hooks, while a wash of reverb gives the song a softer, dream-like quality perfect for hazy summer day.
