Ocean Sleeper

Peace When I'm Dead is the sophomore album from Australian metalcore four-piece Ocean Sleeper, arriving August 21, 2026 through BMG Australia and Rise Records. The 11-track record follows 2019's Don't Leave Me This Way and centers on the ongoing battle with the darker parts of ourselves.

The album was written and recorded in clean vocalist and guitarist Ionei Heckenberg's home studio in Melbourne. Jeff Dunne, whose credits include Make Them Suffer, Disturbed and Knocked Loose, handled mixing and mastering, while Jon Lundin and Curt Martin contributed production across the album.

Musically, Peace When I'm Dead balances crushing metalcore weight with anthemic hooks and vulnerable lyricism. The title track frames life as a continual struggle between challenge and resilience, while comeback single “Break The Cycle” carries a more defiant edge.

“This band has never been afraid to dive into the darker parts of our lives, and this album is no exception,” says lead vocalist Karl Spiessl. “At its core, the record explores the ongoing battle we have with ourselves — that constant inner struggle that can feel endless.”
