Teenage Fanclub

Teenage Fanclub return with Do Not Dare To Dream, their thirteenth studio album and the follow-up to 2023’s Nothing Lasts Forever. Due October 9, 2026 through Merge Records, the record finds the Glasgow band continuing to refine its signature combination of melodic guitars, warm harmonies, and reflective songwriting.

The album was recorded at Black Bay Studio on Great Bernera, the band’s most remote recording location to date. Surrounded by sea and ancient ruins, Teenage Fanclub made use of the studio’s available instruments, including a Domus church organ that appears prominently across the record. Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley brought their songs into the room without fixed arrangements, allowing Euros Childs, Francis Macdonald, and David McGowan to help shape the material collectively.

Taking its title from Blake’s “I Do Not Dare To Dream,” the album pushes back against empty optimism without giving in to despair. Its songs find reassurance in everyday moments, balancing uncertainty with resilience and a quietly hopeful perspective. Lead single “Day In The Sun” captures that outlook in a melodic meditation on renewal and seeing familiar things differently.
