Dosser are a Baltimore, Maryland alternative rock band whose sound pulls from the heavier side of ’90s alternative, grunge and shoegaze, pairing thick, layered guitars with driving rhythms, big melodies, pop hooks and an undercurrent of atmospheric noise. Formed in 2018 by guitarists/vocalists Will Teague and Bret Lanahan, bassist Eric Dudley and drummer Max Detrich, the band sits comfortably alongside the current wave of heavy alternative and grungegaze while drawing influence from bands like Failure, HUM, Shiner, Jawbox and Heatmiser. Fans of Narrow Head, Soul Blind, Superheaven and Nothing should find plenty of familiar territory in Dosser’s balance of weight, melody and texture.
Dosser return December 11 with their second full-length, Born for Nothing/Born by Mistake , and their first LP for Iodine Recordings. The eight-song record expands the Baltimore band’s dense, melodic alternative rock with touchstones including Failure, HUM, Shiner, Heatmiser and Jawbox.
Dosser, the Baltimore grunge-gaze rockers, will release their debut LP "Violent Picture / Violent Sound" on January 20, 2023 via Really Rad Records. The album showcases a blend of 90s guitar rock influences reminiscent of bands like Foo Fighters, Dinosaur Jr, and Sugar, delivering 10 big rock anthems with a pop sensibility. Fans of Narrow Head, Basement, Nothing, Soul Blind, Teenage Wrist, and similar bands should keep an eye on Dosser's new material.
Baltimore’s Dosser have announced their second full-length, Born for Nothing/Born by Mistake, due December 11 via Iodine Recordings. It marks the band’s first LP for the label and follows 2023’s Violent Picture / Violent Sound. The record was recorded, produced and mixed by Jon Markson (Drug Church, Drain, Koyo) and mastered by Mike Kalajian.
Along with the album announcement, the band has unleashed the title track, “Born For Nothing/Born By Mistake,” now streaming below. This song is an absolute ripper, opening with a heavy, driving bass line and atmospheric guitar tones before erupting into punchy distortion and a thick, muscular groove that showcases the heavier side of Dosser.
Across its eight tracks, the album finds Dosser pushing further into the dense, melodic alternative rock that has defined the band so far, balancing layered guitars and big hooks with a heavier, more restrained atmosphere. That evolution is already evident on the latest single, as well as the previously released “Learn to Breathe” and “Caught in a Web,” drawing from the weight and atmosphere of Failure, HUM, Shiner, Heatmiser and Jawbox while continuing to carve out a sound distinctly their own.
