Dosser

Born for Nothing/Born by Mistake

Baltimore’s Dosser return with their new LP Born for Nothing/Born by Mistake, on December 11, 2026, their second full-length and first for Iodine Recordings. Across eight songs, the band push the dense, melodic alternative rock of their debut LP Violent Picture / Violent Sound further into the tension between heaviness and restraint, drawing on the weight and atmosphere of Failure, HUM, Shiner, Heatmiser and Jawbox.

The record circles feelings of isolation, exhaustion and disconnection, with the album title coming from a strange exchange with a suspected bot account that suddenly called the band “good for nothing, born for nothing, born by mistake.” The phrase ended up becoming an unexpectedly fitting frame for the record’s themes of disposability and trying to find something solid in a system that can make people feel replaceable.

Born for Nothing/Born by Mistake was recorded, produced and mixed by Jon Markson (Drug Church, Drain, Koyo) and mastered by Mike Kalajian. The title track is the first single from the album and is out now.

Dosser Announce New Album Born for Nothing/Born by Mistake, Share Title Track

September 10, 2026

Baltimore’s Dosser have announced their second full-length, Born for Nothing/Born by Mistake, due December 11 via Iodine Recordings. It marks the band’s first LP for the label and follows 2023’s Violent Picture / Violent Sound. The record was recorded, produced and mixed by Jon Markson (Drug Church, Drain, Koyo) and mastered by Mike Kalajian.

Along with the album announcement, the band has unleashed the title track, “Born For Nothing/Born By Mistake,” now streaming below. This song is an absolute ripper, opening with a heavy, driving bass line and atmospheric guitar tones before erupting into punchy distortion and a thick, muscular groove that showcases the heavier side of Dosser.

Across its eight tracks, the album finds Dosser pushing further into the dense, melodic alternative rock that has defined the band so far, balancing layered guitars and big hooks with a heavier, more restrained atmosphere. That evolution is already evident on the latest single, as well as the previously released “Learn to Breathe” and “Caught in a Web,” drawing from the weight and atmosphere of Failure, HUM, Shiner, Heatmiser and Jawbox while continuing to carve out a sound distinctly their own.
