Cold Gawd’s Glory2 brings together the muscular distortion of 2022’s God Get Me The Fuck Out of Here and the lush production of 2024’s I’ll Drown On This Earth, reshaping both sides of the band for a new six-song EP. It arrives August 28, 2026 through Dais Records.
The material grew out of the band’s extensive touring behind their sophomore album. After sharing the road with Spiritual Cramp, Soft Blue Shimmer, High Vis and others, founder and frontman Matthew Wainwright returned home confronting the exhaustion and distance that can sit behind a long-held dream. Rather than simply documenting touring, Glory2 focuses on the frustration, instability and longing created by life away from home.
Musically, Cold Gawd retain their effervescent distortion and pummeling grooves while opening the palette around them. The band draws from shoegaze touchstones including Beach House and DIIV, while also pulling inspiration from BROCKHAMPTON and Tigers Jaw. First single “Grease” is propulsive and unyielding in its verses before opening into a soaring chorus, with Wainwright’s gauzy vocal cutting through panoramic guitars.
The EP features Wainwright alongside Brandon Aviles on guitar and production, Cameron Fonacier on drums, and Cameron “Duck” Burris on bass and vocals. Produced with Max Mercier, Glory2 stands as Cold Gawd’s most collaborative release to date.
